Windows 10 Home is the standard consumer edition of Windows 10, designed primarily for home users and personal computers. It includes the core Windows 10 features for everyday use, while some advanced business and administration features available in Windows 10 Pro are not included.

The downloadable ISO is the Windows 10 Version 22H2 32-bit Consumer Editions installation media. It contains multiple Windows 10 editions, including Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro. The edition installed or activated depends on the product key, digital license and hardware configuration of the computer.

Important: The installation media does not provide a Windows license or product key. A valid Microsoft license or digital entitlement is required to activate Windows 10 Home.

Windows 10 support status

Windows 10 version 22H2 was the final feature version of Windows 10. General support for Windows 10 ended on October 14, 2025. Some eligible systems may continue to receive security updates through Microsoft's Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.

This installation media can still be useful for reinstalling and maintaining existing Windows 10 computers, system recovery, virtual machines, compatibility testing and legacy environments.

Windows 10 Home or Pro?

Windows 10 Home provides the standard Windows 10 features required by most personal computers. Windows 10 Pro adds features intended primarily for professional and advanced use, including Group Policy management, BitLocker, Remote Desktop host capabilities and Hyper-V.

If your computer already has a Windows 10 Home digital license, Windows 10 Home is normally the appropriate edition to reinstall. The same Consumer Editions installation media can contain both Home and Pro.

Why use the 32-bit edition?

The 32-bit (x86) edition is intended primarily for older computers and hardware that cannot run a 64-bit operating system, or for specific legacy software and hardware compatibility requirements.

On compatible 64-bit hardware, the 64-bit edition is generally preferable because it can use more memory and provides a more appropriate environment for modern applications.

Before installing Windows 10

Back up important files before performing a clean installation. If Windows 10 was previously activated on the same computer, activation can normally occur automatically after connecting to the Internet, provided that the installed edition matches the existing digital license.
