Windows 10 Pro is designed for professional and advanced users and includes additional management, security and virtualization features compared with the Home edition, such as BitLocker, Group Policy management, Remote Desktop host capabilities and Hyper-V.

The downloadable ISO is the Windows 10 Version 22H2 32-bit Consumer Editions installation media. It contains multiple Windows 10 editions, including Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home. The edition installed or activated depends on the product key, digital license and hardware configuration of the computer.

Important: The installation media does not provide a Windows license or product key. A valid Microsoft license or digital entitlement is required to activate Windows 10 Pro.

Windows 10 support status

Windows 10 version 22H2 was the final feature version of Windows 10. General support for Windows 10 ended on October 14, 2025. Some eligible systems may continue to receive security updates through Microsoft's Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.

This installation media can still be useful for reinstalling professional or legacy Windows 10 systems, system recovery, virtual machines and compatibility testing.

Windows 10 Pro or Home?

Windows 10 Pro includes features intended for business administration and advanced users that are not available in the standard Home edition. If your computer has a Windows 10 Pro digital license, reinstalling the Pro edition allows you to retain those capabilities.

The Consumer Editions installation media can contain both Home and Pro. The appropriate edition is selected according to the installation and licensing information available on the computer.

Why use the 32-bit edition?

Windows 10 Pro 32-bit is primarily useful for older x86 computers and environments that depend on legacy 32-bit hardware or software.

If the computer supports a 64-bit operating system and does not have a specific compatibility requirement for 32-bit Windows, the 64-bit edition is generally preferable.

Before installing Windows 10

Back up important files before performing a clean installation. If Windows 10 Pro was previously activated on the same computer, activation can normally occur automatically after connecting to the Internet when the installed edition matches the existing digital license.
